Reporting into the Consumer Marketing Manager, and supporting the Digital Content Manager, the Marketing Coordinator will play an integral role in executing digital first campaigns that grow the Tastemaker brand across North America.

The day-to-day role involves supporting the Consumer Marketing Manager in working with key media partners, sponsors, and ticketing agents to ensure the smooth running of event campaigns. The role also involves supporting the Digital Content Manager in executing the content strategy across all digital channels (social, email and online) through excellent copywriting, asset management, and content creation.

The ideal person will be a savvy, food-obsessed digital native, who’s bursting with big ideas to bring to the table and very keen to learn. They’ll be an eloquent copywriter with a good sense of humour, have a real passion for food, and love attending events. Experience working on marketing campaigns is useful, but at the very least this person will be a big consumer of food & drink content, with a strong grasp of the digital landscape of food media. Predominantly based in Toronto, this role will also involve travel to all of the culinary hotspots that Tastemaker will be popping up in.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Support the Consumer Marketing Manager and Digital Content Manager in planning and executing a creative marketing strategy for Tastemaker events in Toronto, Chicago, Washington D.C and Nashville.

  • Support the Consumer Marketing Manager in the set up and delivery of Tastemaker ticketing, key media partnerships and marketing elements of major sponsorships.

  • Support the Digital Content Manager in creating weekly content plans – through industry research, copywriting and creating appropriate assets, in line with the overall content strategy.

  • Sourcing and collating marketing assets from all show partners (chefs, restaurants and brands), and support the delivery of digital content elements via internal marketing teams, designers and other content agencies

  • Support the Digital Content Manager in all elements of email setup including data management and template reskins/builds.

  • Identify social media opportunities and trends to increase awareness, as well as realise ad-hoc content and engagement opportunities 

  • Monitor trends across digital and social media to improve the strategy where appropriate, feeding into Tastemaker marketing campaigns and event programming.

  • Collect and manage content (video and photography) at and around events to increase social media engagement and generate a buzz around the events.

  • Support the Digital Content Manager in reporting on all Tastemaker digital channels

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Excellent copywriting skills, and a strong ability to communicate with creativity, intelligence and a sense of humour to a younger audience.

  • A thorough understanding of social media with demonstrable experience in managing social channels

  • Enthusiasm in the digital landscape and a passion for proactive learning

  • Excellent project management and organisational skills

  • Experience of working to tight deadlines in a high-paced environment

  • Experience in marketing/social media/digital workplace is highly advantageous

  • Prior experience working on events and festivals is a bonus
